I started in PR when we still had fax machines in the office to send out press releases - a long time ago! Back then, publicists ruled the city and as a young student in LA, I experienced a ton of events, openings, and activations. All helmed by a publicist. I was sold.
I wanted an agency where culture reigned supreme. Where people cared about outcomes not output, and where people could come to work feeling like a true version of themselves.
I like saying its not a balance but a harmony. Sometimes work wins, sometimes life wins, but you try your best to keep the scales even day to day.
What is the best piece of advice you've received in your career that pertains to your work, and how has it influenced your decisions?
The best piece of advice was to act with authority in the instances I felt less secure. It sounds simple, but can be a huge mind shift.
What activities or hobbies outside of work do you enjoy that help you recharge and stay creative?
I love traveling with my husband and reading with my son. I love a good cuddle from my dog and visits with my parents and siblings. Family recharges me.
What do you like most about your industry?
The idea that we can create global narratives.
What do you wish people knew about your industry?
I wish people understood how hard it actually is day to day. We don't show the countless hours behind an excel sheet or the late nights in the office. Our social media shows the glitzy events and fun dinners, but there is a lot of hard work that happens to get there.
What role does networking play in growing your agency's business?
That is the single driver of growth. Networking is immensely important.
What else would you like to publicly share about your firm or agency?
